When you come to us for your car service in Warrington, you can relax knowing that it won’t invalidate your vehicle’s warranty. An average MOT test usually takes between 45 minutes and an hour to complete – but there are a couple of things that could slow the process down a little. First and foremost, if your vehicle fails its MOT test and repairs are needed, this will take longer.
Even if the test only takes an hour, this doesn’t mean your car will be at the garage for an hour. You can drop your car off at our garage and collect it once our work is done or arrange for us to collect the vehicle and return it once we’re finished.

There are a few minor (but very common!) faults we pick up on during an MOT, some of which can be easily fixed before you bring your vehicle to us. These include:
- Low level of screen wash – topping up your screen wash takes a matter of minutes, so it’s definitely worth a look to see if yours needs refilling.
- Stickers on the windscreen obstructing the driver’s view – make sure any stickers, such as parking permits, are stuck outside the wipers’ sweep area.
- Warning light on the dashboard – if you notice any of your warning lights have lit up, investigate the problem. If you can, try to sort it without our help before bringing your car in for its MOT.
Make sure you’re not caught out and inspect your car to see if you can fix these common issues yourself before bringing your car to us.
If your car fails its MOT, we’ll give you a certificate showing why – depending on how serious the faults are, you may be able to take your vehicle away, but only if it’s still deemed roadworthy.
